Hi,
I wanted to see the tamil news sites
www.dinamalar.com
www.dailythanthi.com
www.dinakaran.com
thatstamil.oneindia.in
Mr.MKS replied
For the first three, once you install the respective
fonts in their
website,
there won't be any problem. I have been using
Firefox and viewing all of
the above sites with out any font problems.
Thatstamil is now changed to Unicode encoding and
hence no need to
download
any fonts. The browser automatically detect UTF-8
and display Tamil
properly provided you have enabled Indic language
support in your system.
If not, see
http://www.mksarav.org/blog/enable-indic-lang.html
Should I install indic language support for Windows XP
to read the above
tamil new sites in Firefox? It requires 250 mb of
space.
Both in Ubuntu 7.10 and Windows XP, I have installed
the firefox extension
Padma 0.4.11 to read the tamil news sites.
The problem is soon after opening the sites in
firefox, the fonts are
displayed properly only for a few a seconds. Then it
reverted to junk
characters.
What should I do for proper display of tamil fonts?
I shall very much appreciate your help.
