Hi,
You could also try http://www.anandtech.com/
Has nice reviews. AMD site has good information. They might have
information on compatible motherboards.
Off the topic, if u plan to put windows, I have had problems with Asus
motherboard and Nvidia onboard audio and video drivers for win98. worked
with XP.
worked nicely with Linux .
ask vendor to recommend a compatible motherboard for processor.
Been using Athlon for nearly 4 yrs. pretty good. In U.S AMD and Intel
dominate the markets. If u r gettin assembled one, make sure u get it from
an assembler one who knows what hes doin.
Regards,
Sanjay

Hi all,
Thanks for the feedback.
1)which processor do u recommend in athlon XP series and which
motherboard is suggested to accomodate a good graphics(NVDIA) and sound
cards ? i heard its mostly used for gaming but how is the performance if i
use it for medium to large scale computational purposes ?
2)also is there any computer hardware magazine which has details of the
same with uptodate prices ?
Try tomshardware.com for good reviews about hardware.
Depends on what processing you want to do - numbers? images? etc etc.
Prices? I suppose PC Quest or Dataquest for Indian prices - PCQ at
least was fast turning into a huge price list with product reviews
attached, more than anything else, when I last read a copy (3..4 years
back).
