BSNL is not alone here... I've been hit by Airtel billing blunders too.
Around this time last year, I was sent a monthly bill of Rs 70,000 (!)
for a 512kbps DSL connection.
Every ISP billing dept has to face angry customes due to poor traffic
metering. Seems like unlimited traffic schemes are actually beneficial
to both parties.
I learnt never to sign up for automatic payments -- credit card or
direct debit or whatever -- whenever there's a variable cost associated
with a service.
