yes - but only on the internal laptop speakers - the headphones are mute
Can you also check the controls that are visible when you attempt to
configure the mixer ? As would be obvious, the idea is to first check
whether the internal speakers can provide a sound output via any
application, thereafter moving on to whether the headphone controls
are turned on/visible and finally moving towards whether one should
stick to PulseAudio or, try with Alsa.
