I found that the best way to learn emacs is to use it in anger - resolve
to use only emacs for a week or so for all your editing needs, and by
then you should "get" it's magic :). I found the same aversion to it
from a colleague who is more used to vi - luckily I'm in a position to
mandate it's use, and I'm happy to report she's picking up :D.
