I use FC5 on inetl845-P4 machine, and my inernet connection is dataone. I
use Huawei WA1003A router. Often, URLs resolve as 1.0.0.0
[root@localhost ~]# apt-get update
0% [Connecting to apt.sw.be (1.0.0.0)] [Connecting to ayo.freshrpms.net (
1.0.0.0)] [Connecting to newrpms.sunsite.dk]
in irssi, when given the command /server irc.freenode.org, i got.
06:06 -!- Irssi: Looking up irc.freenode.org
06:06 -!- Irssi: Connecting to irc.freenode.org [1.0.0.0] port 6667
But if i use the ip directly it all goes ok. like when i say /server <ip
address of server>, it works fine.
These are just 2 examples. This kind of problem exists with many
applications. Is it some problem with the DNS server, or is there anything
that i need to change in my configuration?
