KDE applications do not use the GNOME settings. You need to set it in
default applications system settings (equivalent of kontrol center in
KDE 4). You need to install kdebase (and workspace if you want to login
to the DE) to get that option.

The command is called systemsettings as well. If you prefer, you can do
yum install @kde-desktop to install the entire KDE group, login and
change the settings from there.
