its gr8 i was of help to you. ok here's mambo indepth.
first of all u need not know anything about php. u must have downloaded
mambo tarball.
extract the whole folder locally. ftp the contents directly to ur
webspace. suppose ur contents are extracted to './mambo/' extract THIS
directory as it. say u have uploaded the contents to
<ur_webspace>/mambo, point ur browser to http://<ur_webspace>/mambo. u
must be welcomed by a installation screen. now ur webhost must have
provided u with a database. be sure to include ur database name and set
the host to localhost. thats it! remember to chmod the approriate files
and folders especially the configuration.php file to world executable, u
can do that in ur ftp client itself. now as i had mentioned design ur
site locally and synchronize the database. if u encounter any problems,
