Next time I see the dialogue I will change to high contrast settings with black on white and see what results with Convenient OCR. I certainly hadn't cottoned on to the greyscale, then setting a "threshold?" and then converting to black and white thing. I'm still not sure I totally get that, but it sounds like the conversion to greyscale thing is necessary before one can convert to the presumably more contrasted black/white. upon which the OCR might conceivably do a better job. Ok, I think I get that much. And your saying this can't be done then, on the whole windows OS screen itself then, before running convenient OCR? and then setting it back to normal afterwards? Or I guess that isn't that feasible to do??? Maybe it can't even be done in windows colour schemes anywayz. I wonder. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Marang" <donald.marang@xxxxxxxxx> To: <jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, October 20, 2012 11:39 PM Subject: [jawsscripts] Re: Convenient OCR usage with Flash installation window > Normally, before performing OCR of a screen or window, an image of the > area is taken and some preprocessing is performed.
