depending on your employers setup, many times you can use internet explorer 
to do just this, and you can make a shortcut that will give your name or 
password to the ftp site as well.

the syntax is:
ftp://{username}:{password}@{siteURL}/
with the {} items being replaced with the indicated information
*notes: the site URL section is done without the http:// or the www. 
prefixes, so just :
sitename.main domain
not http://sitename.main domain
or even www.site.main domain
if you want the link to take you to a specific folder on the server, put 
that after the / just like you would for any other path to follow.
