Hi,

That's quite interesting. Can you get at the individual item names with the
home row, either standard or MSAA?

For instance:
Navvigate to an item within the listbox, and turn on the home row
(insert+space).
Press f5 to route the row to the current window.
Toggle through the output modes with f3. the "HighlightedText" option
usually provides the focused item, or selection, in a listbox. Note that f1
speaks the result.

Perhaps MSAA is a long shot but within the home row f10 cycles and f9 speaks
the information.

If you cannot extract the individual list items that way, you may be able to
obtain a full list of items through getting text from the window. Quite how
you would split that long list into individual entries and work out where
the focus was would be an interesting challenge.

Sean.

Hi Shaun,
Here is the technical information I copied from the listbox which I am
trying to get jaws to read using the arrow keys. The program itself is an
internet TV software which I recently got.
Window Technical Information:
Control ID 66970
Class TTeListBox
Handle 66970

Press ESCAPE to close this message.

I have already reclassed the name of the listbox but still no joy.

Many thanks,

Paul.

Paul,

The first assumption here is that JAWS doesn't see the control as a standard
listbox: have you tried reclassifying the window? What window technical
information do you have? And in what application is this all happening?

Sean.

Hi All,

I have a listbox which when I up or down arrow in it Jaws reads nothing.
Please could someone tell me in simple steps how to make this listbox read
with jaws. If I knew even the correct functions to use but am so unsure of
how to work this thing out so any help would be grat.

Many thanks,
Paul.
