Hi Jim,
If you would want to get in touch with me off list and you can give me a zip
file, I would be happy to test for you.

Jim

Subject: [jawsscripts] Layered Keys

HotSpotClicker uses two different key layers, using the standard FS format
in the jkm file.
The HSC layers are different from the insert+space layer, and should be
totally independent.
Recently, somebody brought to my attention that, if HSC is installed, and
connected to some application, that when you are focused in that
application, the standard FS layer is compromised. In jaws 14, the little
layer active sounder doesn't work, but the layer keys actually do work.
When HSC is not active, life is normal.
Same for jaws 15 8021 on XP. But, I hear that, in windows 7 64, even the fs
layer keys don't work.
Have not tried that myself yet. Need to find a windows 7 machine I don't
mind assaulting with a jaws 15 install.

I am baffled by this. I do use the KeyMapChanged event to detect layer
activation. But, as an experiment, I revised HSC to just call
KeymapChangedEvent from the HSC version of the same function, and then
return, totally skipping the HSC version. But, that did not change the
problem. I currently have the impression that, simply having other layer
keys defined in the JKM is raising the issue.

If anybody has any ideas about how to poke into this, I would sure be
interested to hear. Thanks heaps for any suggestions.
