Thanks Jim, that is what I thought. Because there were few sounds for this
project, I ended up putting in multiple files at varying volume levels and
that
is good enough for this.

I have been curious about this too, though I think the answer is no.  When I
moved a script which plays a sound over to  my windows 7 machine, I found
that the sound was louder, relative to eleoquence, on the windows 7 machine
that it is on all my xp machines.
But, it looks like eloquence and PlaySound go through the same volume
control, and I have not ound a way of treating them separately.

I don't expect there is, but is there a way of changing the volume of the
PlaySound feature? So if I put a sound in a script to play, a wav file, the
volume can be adjusted by the user?
