I don't have the code on this computer, but I do a lot of copy and paste at work. I wrote a little script that copies the highlighted on one screen and pastes it in an adjacent program. The basics would probably get you going, but you'd have to add some extra lines to get rid of any blank spaces and the () around area codes. It saves me a bunch of time over a full day and that's the only reason I wrote it. I can send it along if interested tomorrow. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom R" <twr6444@xxxxxxxxx> To: <jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, December 19, 2011 8:25 PM Subject: [jawsscripts] Scripting Approach Hi All, New to scripting and need some advice on how to approach a problem. I have a situation where I have one application that presents a telephone number (10 digits) that is read by Jaws and then needs to be input into another application to do a database lookup to read back the customer information. A straight cut and paste won't work since the telephone number in the database program is 2 seperate fields, area code and phone number. Doing two cuts and pastes is too cumbersome. Any ideas?
