This all depends on what the application provides you. One simple way that will occasionally work is to use the function that I believe is called ClickObjectByName. If you are using the SetFocus command then this is using a Windows Handle which is a unique number that Windows gives to a object when the CreateWindow is called. Once you find this window handle with FindWindow or FindDescendentWindow functions then you can just call SetFocus( myHandle ) where MyHandle is a handle variable. If your application only has one window but several controls then you need to find the MSAA or UIA object and then activate that.
