Perhaps you have thought of these suggestions already, but I'll chime
in here in case you haven't.
Have you tried running Jaws with the /default switch to see if the
behaviour persists?
You could also try disabling the jaws settings for the application
using the application manager.
Have you tried changing the value for the enhanced edit support
checkbox? this could help.
I have noticed using the github site with internet explorer that it
takes Jaws a long time to go into forms mode when focus is on a text
area.
