This may not fix it, but it keeps you from having  your default.jss-based 
use from allowing the Jaws update utility from updating the default.jss and 
.jsb file, and you not being able to take advantage of the updates because 
your custom default file takes precedence.

Try  copying the custom scripts to the user folder, then load 
MyExtensions.jss into the Script Manager, then add your use statement to 
that file and compile.
FS provides this file for that purpose.  It saved me a lot of headaches in a 
previous update.
If you use the merge utility in the updated version, it will copy your old 
source files, and compiled files if they don't have the same name as those 
in the default folder.
For example, I had MyFunctions.* script set, and all of those got copied 
over, but not the Explorer.jsb, or Windows Mail.jsb, but all the other files 
associated--.jkm, .jsd, etc.--copied over.
I had to load those into the Script Manager and compile again under the new 
version.
