Hi Nicol,

I've seen a similar thing with JAWS 8 and IE7. As you say, pressing the insert z makes no difference, but if I hit numpad plus, two or three times, (once won't do it) then JAWS returns to virtual cursor mode as though nothing had happened.

Before discovering this, I had to stop JAWS and restart it to recover the situation, which can be done with a batch file.

 hth

Martin

Hello guys
Usually I post from home as the disclaimer part at the top usually makes
it difficult for people to read my posts, but now I need help very
desperately. This now happens very often. I'm using IE6 to perform
my duties at work, I'm doing customer satisfaction surveys.
I only have the necessary programs open, IE6 of course, the company's
income tax program to assist clients if they need help, I have my mail
client open as I need to be aware if important e-mail gets to me, I have
notepad open for personal notes such as when a client no longer works
at a place and I'm given a new contact number to get hold of him, I have
excel open because I have to refer to turn around times for certain
query types.
Now it happens often that all of a sudden IE just get stuck. The virtual
cursor gets inactive, pressing plus jaws says pc cursor.
Pressing insert+z twice doesn't solve the problem.
I can click no button on the survey page. I can only read the page with
the jaws cursor or virtualize it, but I can't click any buttons such as
submit.
I asked the IT people at my work, they can't click anything on the page
either, thus far my only option was to exit IE, but then that client's
info gets lost and it will never come back again, so it means its one
client I can't get hold of.
I've noticed that the window class is IE frame when this happens,
usually the class is internet explorer server but when IE gets stuck the
class is IE  frame.
Is it possible to fix this without loosing the information?
Any help is much appreciated.__________
