I live in SW Lubbock. I’ve seen a similar, if not the same, grackle and also
have two curved-bill thrashers that visit our yard.

I never did hear or see the Sandhill Cranes though :/
Despite only normally having doves, house sparrows, and grackles, I might be
in the double digits for yard birds now! ;)
