Several weeks ago my husband and I noticed a pair of Northern Cardinals flying
in and out of a Coral Honeysuckle bush attached to the fence; the honeysuckle
is rather lush this year. He thought they might be building a nest but I
couldn't see anything. Finally, I could see a little bunch of twigs and now
there is a female Cardinal sitting upon it. The male Cardinal is in the back
yard a lot more than usual. This is exciting for us, because it's the first
time we've had a nest in the back yard that we know about. So, we are hoping
to see baby Cardinals in a few weeks.
