Greetings All: I birded Clapp Park from 5:45 to 7:00 this evening, tallying 41 species of bird with the following highlights: 2 Chimney Swifts, 1 Cassin's Vireo, 1 House Wren, 12 Swainson's Thrushes, 1 Hermit Thrush, Gray Catbird, 3 Orange-crowned Warblers, 2 Nashville Warblers, 1 Common Yellowthroat, 1 Yellow Warbler, 9 Yellow-rumped Warblers, 2 Wilson's Warblers, 2 Green-tailed Towhees, Spotted Towhee, 13 Chipping Sparrows, 6 Clay-colored Sparrows, 3 Brewer's Sparrows, 2 Lincoln's Sparrows, 6 White-crowned Sparrows,1 Indigo Bunting, and 1 Dickcissel. This is by no means a stellar report for this site but given the somewhat lacklustre spring migration (thus far) and the interminable drought - not too shabby. Anthony 'Fat Tony' Hewetson; Lubbock
