Hi All,

I'm in Seattle.  Taking my daughter for a ferry ride, of course I didn't have
my little travel binoculars.  It was easy to identify pigeon guillemots, and
goldeneye.  I could generally identify grebes and loons by family, but couldn't
tell species to my naked blurry eyes.

But: a cormorant was sitting close by on pilings, between two double-crested
cormorants.  It is slightly smaller than them, and had a lean look.  It had a
dark beak, dark legs.  Most notably, it had a distinctive glossy green sheen in
the sunlight (yes, bright sunlight--unusual for here, I'm told).

Any thoughts on what it might be?  Websites tell me there's Brandt's and
Pelagic out here.  I'm kind of suspecting pelagic.

Thanks,

Bill
