The slight crest on the head and notched tail would support Hammond’s, at least
according to Sibley. I haven’t seen the bird in person yet though.

Several eBird (and other) folk have looked at the photographs
submitted (particularly those sent in by Joe and Jordan Cochran) and
the long, narrow, mostly dark bill and long tail support the
identification of this bird as a Dusky, rather than Hammond's,
Flycatcher. Primary projection is very difficult to assess in the
field (much easier in the hand) and the general impression of
long-tailed (suggesting a short primary projection) vs. short-tailed
(suggesting a long primary projection) is sometimes a bit easier to
pick up on.
Either represents a remarkable sighting for March and I am very
impressed with the flycatcher showing we are having this spring - I
was happy to get Ash-throated Flycatcher and Western Kingbird so early
and y'all are out tracking down unusually an unusually early empid, a
Black Phoebe, and a Vermilion Flycatcher!
