On Monday, Momma Robin started gathering nest building materials in earnest and
carried the material to a mature Live Oak, with Poppa appearing to stand guard.
I am hoping they nest successfully.
Continuing Birds for the yard include:
Blue Jays – 4-5
Northern Mocking Bird – 1, singing its heart out.
Great-tailed Grackle – 2, male and female,
European Starling – infrequently
House Sparrows – 7-9
House Finch – 6-8
White -winged Doves – 30-40
Eurasian Collared Doves – 6-9
Barn Swallow – occasional – pleasant surprise.
New this week:
Chipping Sparrow – 6
Western King Bird – 2 - finally, didn’t think they were ever going to show up.
