I'm new on the freelists emails and am excited to hear what all of you are
seeing. Glenda, your Gray Catbird is so cute! I enjoyed all the photos and
data provided in the newsletters.
I'm just east of Ralls in the middle of cotton and wheat fields and need to get
out to White River Lake as well as some of the playas. I have been to
some north of Lorenzo. I need to find where the farm is in that area. I have
actually seen Cardinals at Silver Falls Rest Area! We averaged 10-20 daily
year round at our home south of Tyler and I certainly miss them and the Blue
Jays plus the American Crows!
I participate in Project FeederWatch and over the last three weeks the Red-Wing
Blackbirds and Brown-Headed Cowbirds have doubled and tripled starting
with 4-6 of each. This week the B-H Cowbirds were at least 40 and the R-W
Blackbirds were at least 30. I have anywhere from 2-10 Eastern Meadowlarks in
our yard daily which delights me. The White-Crowned Sparrows have increased
from seeing just a few pair to at least 20 birds this week.
Since we moved into this house last September, there have always been many
Eurasian-Collared Doves. I have seen a White-Winged Dove two times and saw a
couple of Mourning Doves for the first time two weeks ago but neither this week.
I look forward to birding with all of you!

Interestingly, the Gray Catbird continues in my backyard. It’s been well
over a month now. I’d invite everyone to come and see it, but that bird is
