This past week I was in Haiti. This was my 5th trip and the island truly
never disappoints. I met and talked with so many amazing people, and found
a little bit of time to do some birding.
I got two lifers, Greater Antillean Grackle (yay so good haha) and
Yellow-faced Grassquits.
I saw a lot of good endemic birds like palmchats, Hispanolian
lizard-cuckoo, white-necked crows, bananaquits, Hispanolian woodpeckers,
Vervain hummingbird (2nd smallest in the world), white-tailed
tropicbirds,and many others.
The area I go to has essentially no ebird records so it really is amazing
getting to participate in ebird and getting to be one of the only people
getting to mark what is there.
