Greetings All:
I visited eleven sites with my 7.5 mile radius circle today and had
nifty stuff at every site.
At Dupree Park: 19 Blue-winged Teals, 2 American Avocets, 1 Wilson's
Snipe, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 1 Snowy Egret, and 2 Barn Swallows.
At Leroy Elmore Park: 4 Wood Ducks, 1 Neotropic Cormorant, 2 Great
Egrets, and 5 Snowy Egrets.
At Leftwich Park: 9 Blue-winged Teals, 1 Black-necked Stilt, 2
Ring-billed Gulls, and 1 Merlin.
At Miller Park: 1 Inca Dove (heard only - from a nearby yard?), 1
Snowy Egret, 2 Purple Martins, and 2 Barn Swallows.
At Andrews Park: 5 Blue-winged Teals, 1 Eared Grebe, 1 Osprey, 2
Northern Rough-winged Swallows, 4 Purple Martins, 1 Cliff Swallow, and
14 Barn Swallows.
At Lakeridge Lake: 1 Northern Rough-winged Swallow and 5 Barn Swallows.
At Stevens Park: 2 Blue-winged Teals and 1 male Cinnamon Teal.
At McAlister Park: 19 Blue-winged Teals, 4 Black-necked Stilts, 18
American Avocets, 1 Spotted Sandpiper, 1 Ring-billed Gull, 1 Peregrine
Falcon, 1 Say's Phoebe, 4 Northern Rough-winged Swallows, 15 Barn
Swallows, and 4 White-crowned Sparrows.
At Whisperwood Pond: 8 Wood Ducks, 1 Green Heron, 4 Barn Swallows, and
1 Orange-crowned Warbler.
At Maxey Park: 3 American Avocets, 3 Long-billed Dowitchers, and 7
Barn Swallows.
At Clapp Park: 2 Blue-winged Teals, 1 Common Poorwill (flushed by
weed-whacking crew repeatedly), 1 male Black-chinned Hummingbird, 1
Virginia Rail, 1 Common Moorhen, 1 American Avocet, 1 Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker, 1 Eastern Phoebe, 1 Purple Martin, 4 Barn Swallows, 1
Hermit Thrush, 2 Pine Siskins, 4 Chipping Sparrows, 1 Clay-colored
Sparrow, 1 Fox Sparrow, 2 White-crowned Sparrows, and 2 Common
Yellowthroats.
Not a bad day - can't wait to see how much my circle total went up.
