I just watched a Black-chinned Hummingbird feeding on Mexican Sunflowers and
there was nothing unusual until she hovered about 6” above one and suddenly her
sides were washed in light orange. The light must have been just right for a
reflection. I very rarely see this but it’s worth a reminder to watch a bird
for awhile if you can because appearances can change.
