I’m interested in the vocals. The only one I saw in Lubbock was a 1st year bird
making a sound like a woodpecker slowly tapping on a tin roof. Searched
Cornell’s library but can’t find anything similar. What was this one like?

The northern shrike was continuing on the railroad track. It did go out into
the field but it went back to the track after s about an hour or so. Seen by
several. Jennifer and I got sound recording as well which was a treat.
