The bill looks slightly curved which would point toward Orchard/Hooded but
overall I don’t see something definitive that would exclude
Baltimore/Bullock’s. The underparts wash seems pretty warm.

Phillip,
When I whipped out the tape measure, this bird flew away. Thanks!

I think your initial ID is correct. Range makes Orchard more likely, but
migration does weird things to ranges. Face seems a little plain with no
definite eye stripe, favoring Hooded, but the transition to the throat
favors Orchard; so face/head plumage is a wash for me. The wing bars are the
deciding factor for me, they seem too distinct and more than just edgings.
Putting that with the range leads me to Orchard for the ID. The pic doesn’t
really show tail length. Was the tail long or short. I don’t suppose you
measured the bird? Orchards are 3/4 of an inch shorter on average. 😜

Hi All,
Below is a picture of a female Oriole I took this morning at Clapp Park
here in Lubbock. I believed it to be a female Orchard Oriole, but when I
used Merlin Bird Id it came up with Hooded Oriole. What do you think?

Also, I had two Bell’s Vireos in the same bush.
Thanks,
