Mackenzie Park south of 4th turned up a Solitary Sandpiper in the marshy area l
you can drive around (which is marshy again with the rain). A juvenile Sora was
having a hard time hiding in the narrow strip of tall vegetation next to the
lake. An Osprey flew in to roost on the island. A Snowy Egret was actively
feeding, but Great Egret and a Great Blue Heron were just loafing.
No Rock Wrens in the concrete yard along Avenue S, but there was a Western
Kingbird on the power line near Marshall. A lone Lark Bunting on some rebar had
a slender little friend who evaded identification.
