Sorry for the delayed email. Jim Crites and I searched for the Parula without
luck. It was really slow and quiet out there but there was a Least Flycatcher,
a couple of wood-pewees, a female Kestrel, and a quick look at a Green Heron. I
walked the outer loop around the pond 2x with Jim joining me on my second lap.
Then we got the inner path unlocked and birded it. We checked the large trees
to the left of the office (from the parking area) 2x as well. Along that
downhill and uphill path to the pond, there were several Western Pygmy-Blue
Butterflies :)

All birds reported? Yes
Comments: Birded until about 3:45 and then ran into Jim Crites. Birded the
outer loop 2x and then the inner, locked path with Jim. Partly sunny with
occasional breeze. High 80’s/low 90’s. At least 5 Western Pygmy-Blues on one
plant. A few other circling more plants along the way. Painted Lady. Fixed
distance from 2.73 because of doing the outer loop.
