[leasbirds] ladder-backed

just spotted a ladder-backed woodpecker on a small, dried live oak on the
se corner of mccullough park whole on my morning walk. it remained there
even on my second pass (15 min later).

life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming-WOW-WHAT A
RIDE!
