Linuxtrent: problemi con sendmail

Mi e' arrivata questa e-mail di richiesta di aiuto.
Dopo aver installato sympa, i problemi proseguono con sendmail...
Qualcuno ha idee?

Allora,
il sympa funziona, il problema è che il server che non manda fuori le mail
è quello usato da sympa (non quello che ho installato io).
Quindi se qualcuno sottoscrive una qualche lista sia via web che via mail,
sympa effettua correttamente la sottoscrizione, però poi non riesce a
comunicare la password d'accesso al servizio all'utente.
... ad ogni tentativo di invio di mail fallito manda all'utente root una
mail simile a quella che ti riporto dopo e che sono riuscita a vedere
soltanto da elm.
... i tentativi di invio della mail si ripetono per 5 giorni, quindi
stamane ho trovato più di 5000 mail di root, tutte con lo stesso subject
"Mail Delivery Subsystem"
