To mark the 25 years of *Down To Earth magazine*

we are organising a unique conversation – a /jugalbandi/ of sorts -- in
your city. This conversation -- on the subject of monsoons in this time
of changing climate and extreme weather events – will be between
scientists, classical musicians and the civil society.
We invite you to join us in talking about rains, exploring and
celebrating this intriguing weather phenomenon that has such a deep
impact on our food, health, life and livelihoods. We will be releasing
our latest e-publication, /An 8-million-year-old mysterious date with
monsoon, /on this occasion.
The key participants in this conversation will be *J Srinivasan*,
Divecha Centre for Climate Change, Indian Institute of Science,
Bengaluru; *Dilip Ganguly*, Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, IIT- Delhi;
*Ashwini Bhide Deshpande*, exponent of Hindustani classical (vocal),
