The Western Ghats Programme at Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF) is
looking for an officer to create public communication centres &
coordinate outreach activities in Karnataka.
*The Position *
The main tasks in this role will be to:
• Conceptualize, co-ordinate, and develop high-quality outreach activities
and related materials through in-house or external specialists.
• Co-conceptualize and develop nature & wildlife information centers.
• Train field coordinators to implement public information campaigns.
• Monitor & document the impact of the project’s outreach activities.
• Periodically report (with assistance from other team members) activities
to the project leader.
*Qualifications & skills*
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of
public communication and/or outreach experience in the non-profit sector,
ideally on issues related to wildlife and nature conservation.
Candidates with good writing skills, as well as experience of design and
educational product development will be preferred. Good inter-personal
skills and experience of working with rural communities and
grassroots organisations are desirable. Functional knowledge
of Kannada will be an advantage.
Women and candidates from socially/economically underprivileged are
especially encouraged to apply.
*Location and pay*
This position is based primarily out of our south Bangalore office,
with periodic visits to field to coordinate and
monitor outreach activities. This is a contract position, and pay will be
commensurate with the candidate's skills and experience.
