I would like to announce a call for contributions to a book on the
intersections between environmental and linguistic justice. Some of your
work may indeed be relevant to this topic. Please think about contributing.

Some important information relevant to this call is pasted below. More
information is in an attached pdf.

Potential chapter topics include, but are not limited to:
• Race, ethnicity, and environment
• Intersectional environmental justice
• Gender, sexuality, and environment
• UN Global Goals, sustainability, and environmental justice
• Environmental justice, community development, and activism
• Environmental justice and Indigenous peoples
• Environmental justice and ethics
• Environment, human rights, and community development
• Neoliberalism, consumerism, and environment
• Biocultural diversity, placed-based education, and multilingualism
• Pluralistic conceptualizations of the environment

Research-based submissions (4000-6000 words including references):
Manuscripts in this genre rely on empirical research, providing data-based
evidence to inform
a pedagogical practice. The authors of this genre need to make sure that
they have met the
ethical requirements of research before publishing their work.

Pedagogy-oriented submissions (3000-5000 words):
Manuscripts in this genre provides insights from different stakeholders’
perspectives
(teachers, students, administrators, parents, and communities) in regard to
a particular
participatory, experiential, accessible, and activist pedagogical practice,
strategies or
approaches that aim to cultivate environmental justice within the language
classrooms.

Activism/community-oriented submissions (2000-3000 words):
In this genre, we expect shorter pieces that showcase the work activists
and practitioners have
been doing in and along with communities to achieve environmental justice.

Art-based submissions (4-8 pages):
Art-based submissions can include for instance short graphic stories that
summarize either a
data-driven study or a practice.

Abstract submission:
All submissions need to be posted to the following:

The submissions will include:
• Names and affiliations of each author
• A working title (Max. 15 words)
• An abstract of approximately 500 words excluding references
o Abstracts for research papers should include descriptions of key
terminology,
analytical framework, a brief description of methodology
o Abstracts for pedagogy and activism/practice papers should include
descriptions of key terminology, analytical and/or pedagogical framework,
and
a brief description of the practice
• A 50-100 word bio for each author
