Samvada <http://samvadabaduku.org> has completed two batches [about 47
students - from diverse backgrounds (rural, socially and economically
disadvantaged, 10th and PUC dropouts etc)] of 'Waste Supply Chain
Management' *(WSCM)* course which is a three month certification course.
We are happy to share with you that we will be starting our next
course on *'Waste
Supply Chain Management'* in *Feb 2021*. We initiated a post feasibility
study of our earlier course and from the study we gather that a six month
course would be more exhaustive to meet the requirements in the Waste
Management Sector.
*Please find attached the outline of the curriculum*. We would like to
explore the possibility of being aided in our endeavor to strengthen our
course and provide access to our students to as much information/knowledge
to empower them. *We believe that here is scope to ideate on how research
can be made more accessible and inclusive*:
1) *Resource Persons *- Teaching sessions covering any of the topics listed
in the curriculum (attached). The course will mainly be experiential and
field based, so researchers who have worked on the field and have an
understanding of the dynamics of the waste management system in the context
of economics, politics, social etc would be ideal. The resource person
should be able to converse in kannada (can be a mix of kannada and english
as well). Please suggest people in your organisation/ network that we can
reach out to.
2) *Certification or Accreditation Partner* - If you wish for us to include
any specific subject in our curriculum, we can work together on this. Or if
you like what we are doing you could come onboard as a part of the *curriculum
committee* and be a certifying organization alongside Samvada on
completion of the course
4) *Internship Assistance: *Our 6 month course includes 1 month (basic
internship) course and 2 month (focused on a subject, paid) internship. You
could recruit some students on completion of project work (part of the
course) for internships within your organization.
3) *Funding Partner* - The students are offered a 6 month certification
course (residential with full financial assistance). So any financial
assistance in fulfilling and bettering our facilities for them is welcome.
