*Field surveys of migratory birds wintering in Maharashtra *
We are looking for field assistants to help with some bird surveys that
will be conducted in Pune district between the months of December and
January. A collaboration between University of Göttingen and the Oriental
Bird Club, this effort is part of a project on status assessment of
long-distance migratory birds that winter in the grasslands and
agricultural landscapes of Maharashtra.
*Location:* Pune district
*Tentative project duration:* *15.12.2022 â 21.01.2023*
*Minimum qualifications and expectations*
- Prior experience and familiarity with bird species
identification, especially grassland species.
- Physically fit for long field days
- Team player, comfortable with shared accommodation and basic
facilities
- Ability to communicate in Marathi
*Desired requirements*
- Driverâs license for a bike or a car
- BSc or MSc (Ongoing or completed) in biological sciences
- Some background in ornithology and scientific bird surveying
techniques
