About Vanodaya: It is a volunteer driven group focused on conserving
wildlife and their habitats. It has been in existence for about eleven
years now and over the last six years has focused on conserving Cauvery
Wildlife Sanctuary, which is the largest protected area in Karnataka spread
across 1042 sq kms of pristine wilderness.
Our best hope of protecting numerous endangered and endemic species
including elephants, tigers, grizzled giant squirrels and honey badgers is
through volunteering and other Scientific or academic interventions. And
that is what we do at Vanodaya.

Internship Opportunity: Vanodaya presently has internship opportunities
for candidates with a keen interest in Data Collection and Data processing
that will help in wildlife research on Human-Wildlife conflict in Cauvery
Wildlife Sanctuary.
The work involves Observing, interacting with people impacted by human –
wildlife conflict, Data processing, validating, and analyzing data on:

Instances of human-wildlife conflicts
-
Observations from site including recording exact GPS coordinates, nature
and extent of damage to life or property
-
Wildlife movements
-
Wildlife species noticed via formal surveys/during fieldwork
Stipend: Interns will receive a nominal stipend.
Location: Identified Villages around Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary
Requirements: Ability to speak fluently in Kannada. Commitment to be
available for a minimum of three months, starting from 11th Feb 2023.
Extremely meticulous and organized, Attention to detail is particularly
important. Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly MS
Excel), Good interpersonal skills and ability to talk to local villagers at
ease. Passionate about wildlife, interested in learning about communities.
Note: Applicants will need to possess a valid geared two wheeler and light
motor vehicle Driver’s license.
Modalities:

Interns will be taken through respective brief overview within a week of
joining the internship

Interns will be provided with required logistic support (Stay and food)
based on their assignment

The Intern appointed by Vanodaya will have to sign a Code of Conduct
Policy of our organization
