*Internship position with the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the
Environment, Bangalore*

Research on the usefulness of frogs in wet paddy agriculture around Kalakad
Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve is being carried out by Mr. Allwin J and myself
with Dr. T.Ganesh.

One component of this study involves the dietary assessment of frogs in
paddy fields. Dietary assessments are carried out by stomach flushing
technique, without killing the frogs. These assessments provide insights on
the behaviour, ecology and the functional aspects of frogs as pest control
agents.

We are currently looking for interns with an *Entomology* background to
sort the stomach contents. The internship would ideally be for one month
and the intern will be required to sort the specimens to genus and/or
morpho-species level and enter the data into prescribed formats. We prefer
Bangalore based interns. Those from outside of the city will have to make
their own accommodation arrangements.

There is also a possibility of providing a small honorarium. An internship
certificate will also be provided if needed.
