Dear All,

We are glad to inform you that second cycle of *Capacity Development
Programme in Environment Management *(CDEM) 2017-18 has been launched by
K.J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce in collaboration with Mumbai
Metropolitan Region-Environment Improvement Society (MMR-EIS).

This modular programme is conducted in five modules viz.
Environmental Policy & Regulation,
Integrated Solid Waste Management,
Water & Wastewater Management,
Green Built Environment and
Sustainable Cities.

Each module is designed to develop a deeper understanding of environmental
management issues. The modules will have a mix of facilitated sessions,
field visits, group activities and analysis of case studies. Participants
will get an opportunity to interact with environmental professionals,
scientists, and academicians, well known in their respective fields.  These
courses are open for citizens concerned about environmental issues,
architects, planners & managers from governmental organizations, NGO
professionals, industry and business professionals, Postgraduate and Ph.D.
students.

All the modules are stand-alone that could be chosen based on the interest.
A Diploma will be awarded to the participants who choose to complete all
the five Modules. The course fee is subsidized for post-graduate students
and Ph.D. candidates. A group discount could be offered for the enrolment
of a minimum of 3 participants.

*The fifth module of the programme is on Sustainable Cities which is
scheduled from 17th to 21st July 2018 at Somaiya Vidyavihar
campus, Mumbai.  *
