WCS-India is looking for a Research Assistant to work on a project about
illegal wildlife trade. The RA is expected to assist in the design of a
species identification field manual to help enforcement agents identify
wildlife species, parts, and products at check posts and/or during seizures.
Specific job responsibilities include:
1. Compile information on major wildlife species in trade including
photographs, identification characteristics, product types etc. from
literature and through consultations with experts
2. Design a field manual from compiled information that can act as a
comprehensive guide for species identification
The RA should have a basic understanding of illegal wildlife trade in
India, be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and possess good
English language skills. Candidates should possess either a Masters degree
or a Bachelor’s degree with two years of work experience, and a
demonstrated interested in wildlife. Knowledge of design software such as
Photoshop would be an added advantage.
Duration: 3 months, beginning 1st August 2018
Location: Bengaluru
Remuneration: Rs. 25,000 pm
