Fellows*
ATREE invites applications for one Research Associate and three Junior
Project Fellows for the project ‘*Systematic inventorying, use profile and
sustainable management of edible insects of Northeast India**’. *The
project is funded by National Mission on Himalayan Studies, GB Pant
National Institute of Himalayan Environment and sustainable development. This
research project proposes to document potential edible insects, their
habitat and nutritional attributes, the differences and similarities of
entomophagy habits between the cultural, ethnic, and linguistic groups.
*Research Position: Research Associate (1 No.):*
*Emoluments: *Rs. 36000/- + 24% HRA for all three years, strictly as per
MoEF&CC guidelines*
*Essential qualifications:*
· PhD in Zoology/Life Sciences/ Botany
*Preferable Qualification*
· Experience in Biodiversity/ Social surveying
· Ability to work in interdisciplinary research teams
*Research Position: Junior Project Fellow (JPF) – (3 Nos.):*
*Emoluments: *Rs. 16,000/- + 24% HRA for first two years and Rs, 18000/- +
24% HRA for the 3rd year, strictly as per MoEF&CC guidelines*
*Essential qualifications:*
· Post Graduate degree (MSc in Zoology, Ecology or Botany)
· A strong aptitude towards insect ecology and good
analytical skills.
· Good oral communication and writing skills.
· Highly motivated for carrying out fieldwork in tough &
remote conditions.
*Desirable Skills:*
· Knowledge of any local languages of NE Indian region.
· Communication and computer skills including databases and
web portals.
· Commitment to high standards and have the ability to
analyse data and be capable of working both independently and as part of a
team.
