Opportunity for internship with Wildlife Program, NCBS in Periyar Tiger
Reserve
We are looking to hire an intern for a short duration to assist in camera
trapping in Periyar Tiger Reserve, starting immediately. This would
primarily involve hiking and trekking in the protected area, with heavy
equipment, and deploying camera traps at multiple locations. The intern
would also be required to help in planning field work and interacting with
forest staff. Although not mandatory, prior experience in camera trapping
and basic navigation using GPS would be helpful. Food expenses will be
covered during the internship period. The team will be living in shared
accommodation with very basic facilities. The position is ideal for
students who have recently completed their Bachelor's or Master's degrees
and are looking for field or research experience. Anyone interested may

Location: Periyar Tiger Reserve, Kerala
Duration: 2-2.5 months starting immediately
Minimum qualifications and expectations:

Physically fit to endure long field hours and rough working conditions.

Comfortable with shared accommodation and basic facilities.

BSc/MSc in any field
Desired skills:

Experience in field work and camera trapping

Ability to communicate in Malayalam

Valid driving license
Other Information:

The position is short term and for the paid position, minimum commitment
for the entire duration is required.
