1. The Advanced Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC), a premier
Institute under Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, in
the field of wildlife research, training and education. This institute is
designed as a dynamic, interactive organization with the mission to conduct
innovative research and develop research collaborations across disciplines
and professions to translate concepts into products to improve wildlife
conservation.
2. AIWC has built several inter-institutional collaborations and
connectivity supported by well-trained teams of research and laboratory
staff. This foundation has helped pursuit of thematic research programmes
which can be broadly categorized as, (a) Centre for Wildlife Forensic
Sciences (b) Centre for Animal Care Sciences, (c) Centre for Conservation
Education. These are strengthened by the many core facilities *viz.*
Morphometry laboratory, Molecular DNA and Scat laboratory (which includes a
fully automated DNA extractor and Sequencing facility), Hematology and
Biochemistry Laboratory, Pathology and Microbiology Laboratory etc that
serve as huge resources for the research programmes of AIWC.
This recruitment is to fill up the vacancy of *Senior Research Fellow (2
Nos)/Project Assistant (1 No) *under the Government of Tamilnadu-funded
project
