*Recruitment of **Research Associate/Post-Doctoral Fellow and **Senior
Research Fellow in Govt. of India funded project*
ATREE invites applications for the position of a *Research Associate
(Post-doctoral Fellow)* and a *Senior Research Fellow **for a **Govt. of
India funded project on Biodiversity and Agriculture.* The project seeks to
develop a methodology to quantify the role of biodiversity in enhancing
agricultural productivity and meeting the food and nutritional security of
people, besides exploring how the sustainable use of biodiversity can
enhance rural incomes. The tenure is initially for one year and is likely
to be extended based on funding opportunities. In the first year, the RA
and SRF are expected to collate and curate the existing information on
biodiversity services to agriculture and human well-being, conduct
workshops towards development of methodology, write reports and prepare
articles for peer reviewed journals and reach-out to society through
various media including web portal. The candidates should be self-driven
and highly motivated and willing to undertake fieldwork.
*a) **Minimum qualifications for Research Associate/PDF (one):*
A Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Sciences/Ecology/Environmental
Sciences/Forestry/ Life Sciences, with interest in Biodiversity and allied
areas. The candidate is expected to lead the research project on developing
methods to quantify the contribution of biodiversity to agricultural
productivity, food and nutritional security and in enhancing rural incomes.
The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills.
RA/PDF will be assisted by SRF in the project.
*b) **Essential qualifications for SRF (One):*
Post Graduate degree (MSc in Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Forestry and allied
subjects) with NET qualification. or BTech/BE with GATE or BTech/BE with
MTech or MSc. The candidate should have a strong aptitude towards
Agriculture/Ecology/Environment and good analytical skills and have good
oral communication and writing skills.
