Dear All,
Here is a great opportunity to be a part of an assignment to conduct wolf
occupancy and human-carnivore conflict survey in Kutch. *Voluntary Nature

is looking for a (1) Research assistant (for 3 months) & (2) Volunteers to
help in data collection for the ongoing study on "Identifying conservation
priority areas for wolves and other carnivores in Kutch, Gujarat (For more

The work primarily involves conducting wolf occupancy surveys, conflict
surveys (through interviews), line/vehicle transect, scat collection and
habitat mapping at various places over the Kutch. Basic vegetarian food,
travelling and accommodation (project related) will be provided or cost
will be reimbursed.
Candidates will be selected after a screening of their applications.
Volunteering preference will be given to those applicants who are willing
to volunteer for more than 20 days. Salary for the research assistant post
is based on candidates' educational qualification and experience.
1) Experience in conducting socio-economic surveys is desirable, though
not necessary.
2) The candidate should be preferably able to communicate in
Hindi/Gujarati.
3) The candidate must be physically fit as the work involves 8-12
hours/day of field work and may involve camping in the field, and
preference will be given to candidates with a four wheeler driving license.
4) The candidate would be expected to work independently or in team
under the guidance of the project supervisor.
5) A strong interest in wildlife conservation and, although not
necessary, a Master's/Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences would be
desirable for the Research Assistant position.
