Hi,
We are looking for a student of the social sciences to undertake a project
"Understanding dependence of marginal communities on wetlands" in a village
in Hooghly district, West Bengal.
The duration of the project is 3 months starting from December 2019.
*Key responsibilities: *The candidate will be expected to be conversant in
both quantitative and qualitative social survey methods, analyze, write-up
and publish her/his findings. She/he will be helped by a team of 2
volunteers.
*Essential requirements:* The candidate should be based out of Kolkata and
should be able to speak and communicate in Bengali. She/he should have
previous work experience in undertaking such surveys and should have a keen
interest in recent environmental issues.
*Remuneration:* The successful candidate will receive a stipend of Rs.
16,000 per month. Field expenses will be borne by the project proponents.
*Submission of applications:* Interested applicants are requested to send
their resume along with an application a) explaining their intent to
undertake this survey and b) how it would help them in their career in not
more than 500 words.
