CS-India is looking for an honest, fit, and dynamic retired officer to lead
its anti-illegal wildlife trade operations in northeastern India. The
individual must demonstrate an interest and commitment to the cause of
wildlife and environmental protection. He/she must also possess an
excellent record of service during previous employment experience.
Job Title: Team Leader – Combating Wildlife Trafficking in India
Responsibilities include:
(i) Developing, coordinating and maintaining WCS-India’s citizen reporter
network in the northeast
(ii) Liaising with state and central government officials from agencies
including the Forest Department, Police, Directorate of Revenue
Intelligence, Department of Revenue, Enforcement Directorate, Customs,
Border Security Force, and the judiciary.
(iii) Organization and oversight of inter-agency trainings focused on
combating wildlife trafficking. These include trainings aimed at building
the capacity of law enforcement agencies (Forest Department, Police,
Customs etc. personnel), development of monitoring protocols with the
Customs and Border Security Forces, filing and prosecuting economic
complaints under the Enforcement Directorate’s mandate, and investigative
and prosecutorial guidance for the judiciary.
